“It all seems completely lunar that a government party, or one that claims to be such, has reached such extremes”reacted Wednesday June 12 on franceinfo Philippe Gosselin, outgoing LR deputy for Manche, after the exclusion of Eric Ciotti from the Republicans by the party’s political office.

“We can clearly see that what Eric Ciotti is doing is completely irrelevant”denounces Philippe Gosselin, after the president of LR advocated an “alliance” with the National Rally. “He commits the party without having a mandate from anyone. It was never discussed at the time of his election”, at the head of the party. Eric Ciotti “held secret meetings. In reality he protects his little future, his constituency, by no doubt openly dreaming of the seat and then of joining Beauvau”. Philippe Gosselin sees this “from the little electoral kitchen”. “This is not worthy of a party leader.”

Eric Ciotti “is a president who has just been impeached”insists the elected official from La Manche, while the now ex-president has affirmed that he remains so. “He attempted a putsch on Tuesday on the RN, on our activists, by endangering the candidates for the legislative elections who, for their part, remained true to their boots, who remained faithful to their values.”

“He can contest, he has the right, but we no longer recognize him as president”, insists Philippe Gosselin. While the lists of candidates for the early legislative elections must be submitted before Sunday, Philippe Gosselin assures that “the inauguration” candidates “is in the process of being awarded with a National Investiture Commission with Michèle Tabarot. This investiture will be the one that the candidates will receive”.

Philippe Gosselin judges “likely” that for his part, Eric Ciotti “will make a certain number of pseudo LR nominations. It will be up to the candidates locally to enlighten our fellow citizens”. But the elected official from La Manche judges the situation “quite pitiful”. It shows “that it is not the interest of France that Eric Ciotti is defending. In reality, it is apparatus, it is the tactics of the Fourth Republic. It is not very worthy of the one who claimed to be a statesmanadds Philippe Gosselin.
