Emmanuel Macron held a press conference on Wednesday June 12 from the Cambon Capucines pavilion in Paris to present his battle plan for the early legislative elections. The President of the Republic put the extremes back to back, calling in particular for clarification from the LR opposed to the agreement with the RN.

Emmanuel Macron “not up to par” for the Republicans

“We have no accountability to someone who made the National Rally and La France insoumise rise, what nerve,” castigated Florence Portelli, vice-president of the Republicans, guest on franceinfo. “No moral lesson from someone who has a catastrophic record and who, in addition, has shortchanged Bardella and company“, continues this close friend of Valérie Pécresse, the president of the Île-de-France region. For her, “we must not seek ministerial positions at all costs, we must not at all costs form coalitions that mean nothing“.

Senator LR from Vendée, Bruno Retailleau, believes on“Emmanuel Macron has learned no lessons from his failures. He excessively personalizes the campaign, with a catalog of measures announced a thousand times, never carried out, without understanding that the French are already in the post-macronism era, he said. And then is it really the role of the head of state to take on the role of leader of the majority? All this is not up to the current democratic challenge.”

“The cause of the current chaos”, according to the left

“I do not want to spend my time commenting on historical untruths, fake news, caricatures of a president who mobilizes all means of communication while explaining that he is not campaigning, gets annoyed about X Olivier Faure, first secretary of the PS. He is the cause of the current chaos. I want to work to get out of it.”

On “What are you talking to us about, man?! Fascism is at the gates of power and you’re talking to us about screens? This man is a permanent fake.”

Still on X, the boss of the Insoumis Jean-Luc Mélenchon tackles the president, who according to him “is sinking into the strategy of chaos and the war of religions to brutalize the election. Macron is drowning in his flood of words, insults and contempt against those who do not share his opinion. The French have already said they had had enough.”

“Always the same speech”, castigates the far right

“I already turned off the television”, mocks Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, deputy for Essonne. Thierry Mariani, National Rally MEP, adds:Already 30 minutes of intervention Macron. Always the same speech, the same lessons, the same lies, the same sermon. Boring, smug, disconnected. He really didn’t understand that the real problem… It’s him!”

“The country is more important than the party”, believes the presidential majority

On the side of the majority, Karl Olive, outgoing Renaissance deputy for Yvelines, believes on franceinfo that “the message we must be able to remember is that the country is more important than the party. This is what the French demand from us on a daily basis.”
