The interns of the 2024 cohort begin their internship on the daily newspaper “Le Devoir”

Faithful to a tradition that already dates back several years, The duty welcomes back a cohort of eight interns who will spend the summer with us, in addition to an investigation intern who has been there for a few weeks already. These paid internships are made possible, in part, thanks to the generosity of our valuable partners, Concordia University and the Fonds de recherche du Québec — Société et culture.

Under the supervision of Alexandre Shields and Stéphane Baillargeon, this year’s aspiring journalists are:

  • Florence Bordeleau-Gagné, finishing her master’s degree in literary studies at Laval University;
  • Léo Mercier-Ross, finishing his bachelor’s degree in journalism at UQAM;
  • Félix Étienne, master’s student in history at Laval University;
  • Pierre-Etienne Genest, master’s student in sociology at the University of Montreal;
  • Naomie Duckett Zamor, undergraduate student in journalism at UQAM;
  • Mathilde Beaulieu-Lépine, undergraduate student in journalism at UQAM;
  • Roxanne Lachapelle, completing a master’s degree in communication at UQAM;
  • Mathias Poisson, DESS student in journalism at the University of Montreal;
  • Camila Lewandowski, undergraduate student in journalism at Concordia University.

We can’t wait to introduce them to this fabulous profession and we hope that readers will quickly benefit from their diverse experiences.
