Like every evening, the 11 p.m. news news takes a look at the news broadcast by European television channels. It’s Eurozapping on Thursday June 6.
In the Netherlands, the European elections kick off. Since Thursday morning, June 6, the Dutch have been the first of 270 million Europeans to go to the polls. After his surprise election, the far-right leader is optimistic: “We will win the elections anyway, because we have no seats in the European Parliament today, and we will get many.”
Geert Wilders, second in the polls, encourages his fellow citizens to vote. One couple needed no such advice. On their wedding day, they came to submit their ballots. 720 MEPs will be elected following the vote on Sunday June 9. The participation rate will be particularly scrutinized.
