Close the border to illegal migrants seeking asylum. This is the political shift to the right that Joe Biden has just announced. The president intends to toughen his tone on the issue of immigration. “This measure will help us regain control of the border to restore order. This ban will remain in effect until the number of illegal immigrants is reduced to a level that our system can manage effectively.”
The decree came into force on Wednesday June 5. It now prevents illegal migrants from benefiting from the right to asylum if their number exceeds 2,500 per day on average over a week, which is largely the case today. They will be expelled without being able to submit their file.
