Russia’s interference is “a poison that seeks to manipulate opinion” and can be “our new world war”said the Prime Minister on Thursday June 6. “We saw these red hands on the Holocaust memorial, these Stars of David tagged on the walls, we recently saw these fake coffins placed in front of the Eiffel Tower”recalled Gabriel Attal, guest on the show “Les 4 V” on France 2.

“These are manipulations that come from outside and seek to divide us”continued the Prime Minister, assuring that “the first to alert about these threats was the President of the Republic himself in 2017, facing Vladimir Putin who was at his side”.

In October, after the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, Stars of David were sprayed on several building facades in the Paris region. The facts, for which a Moldovan couple was arrested, were attributed by the French authorities to the Russian security services (FSB). On the night of May 13 to 14, red hands were sprayed on the Holocaust memorial in Paris and the police suspect three people who fled abroad.

The French Parliament definitively adopted on Wednesday a law to strengthen the arsenal against foreign interference, which creates, among other things, a national register of influence and experimentally strengthens this fight through algorithmic surveillance currently reserved for anti-terrorism.
