Fuel prices are falling due to the drop in global average prices of petroleum products. Unleaded and diesel fell by a few cents in June.

All brands combined, fuel prices continued to fall in June. Fuel remains one of the largest expenditure items among the French. The price of a liter of unleaded, one of the best-selling in France, has been falling since mid-April. Diesel has a string of consecutive weeks of declines.

Like every year, we should perhaps expect a slight rebound in pump prices from June due to the increase in demand during the summer period. Fuel operations at cost price could then be continued. The OPEC alliance also announced a series of measures to stabilize and support oil prices by extending some production cuts until 2025. These decisions could maintain fuel prices.
