This Wednesday, June 5, a traffic accident involving a group of 12 children from a bicycle leisure center took place on Avenue de Coligny in La Rochelle, in Charente-Maritime. Firefighters, who arrived on site, found several injured, including three in serious condition.
A serious traffic accident took place in the morning, this Wednesday, June 5, in La Rochelle. According to the Charente-Maritime prefecture, a group of 12 children from a cycling leisure center were hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Avenue de Coligny and Rue Jules-Ferry. So far, the incident has left four people lightly injured and three in serious condition.
Firefighters are currently on site, as well as national and municipal police. 32 firefighters were involved in this accident, including a nursing vehicle, two SMUR vehicles (mobile emergency and resuscitation structure), an extrication vehicle and seven ambulances.
SDIS 17 advises residents and motorists to avoid the area in order to facilitate access to emergency services.
