A “exceptional mobilization”. TGV circulations “on the affected axes” by the attack on the SNCF network, will “resume faster”states the SNCF, Saturday July 27, in its latest traffic update issued at 5:30 p.m. In detail, the repair work on the LGV Atlantique will be completed Sunday morning. Thus, Sunday, from midday, 9 out of 10 trains will be able to run.
Regarding the LGV Nord, “The damage required more extensive repairs and a specific test phase is necessary to validate proper functioning”specifies the SNCF. These tests will begin during the night from Saturday to Sunday. On Sunday, traffic will therefore remain limited on this line, with 7 out of 10 trains running, “with delays of one to two hours”. The return to normal is “confirmed” for Monday morning, the railway company emphasizes in its press release. Traffic has already resumed on the East line.
“Everything will be back to normal on Monday morning” on the network, repeated on Saturday the CEO of the SNCF, Jean-Pierre Farandou, during a press briefing at the Montparnasse station in Paris. During the night, “with spotlights, in the rain”the mobilized agents “put the wires together one by one”explained Jean-Pierre Farandou. On the sabotaged lines, “A hundred agents were mobilized in difficult weather conditions” to restore the network during the night from Friday to Saturday, specified the Minister of Transport, Patrice Vergriete, during a press briefing on Saturday morning.
An investigation is underway for damage to property likely to harm the fundamental interests of the Nation, attacks on an automated data processing system by an organized gang and criminal association. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed to France Télévisions on Saturday that a text of demands had been sent to certain media outlets and that checks are underway on this point. The investigations are mobilizing more than fifty investigators from the gendarmerie, the Minister of Transport specified.
