Snowshoe enthusiasts, some people don’t understand you, but we do.

To enjoy winter, nothing beats a hike in the great outdoors on a beautiful, pristine trail… especially if you’re up to your ears in snow!

Here are some particularly pretty and snowy places for your next snowshoe outings across Quebec:

It takes 45 minutes by tracked minibus to reach this high area of ​​Monts-Valin National Park, in Saguenay. The trail is 6.5 km round trip among snow-covered trees (they’re the ghosts!) and it offers a unique view of the fjord. For real fans!

Choose the Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix if you want unforgettable views of the St. Lawrence River. You will find several snowshoe trails departing from St-Tite-des-Caps or the Le Massif ski resort. If you’re an extreme snowshoer, take a week’s vacation and hike the 25.2-mile long-distance trail.

Trails of 2 to 6.7 km, a frozen waterfall and two peaks over 600 m await you in this generally snow-covered park, located near Saint-Zénon, a 2-hour drive from Montreal.

Climb to the Mont-Mégantic Observatory or the other peaks of the park thanks to 30 km of snowshoe trails. Want to go for a full day, or even two days? The new Ruisseau de la Montagne trail connects the two sectors of the park over 13.8 km.

1 hour from Quebec, this beautiful outdoor site offers you around ten snowshoe trails, of different levels, through maple forests, mountains and capes. You will walk alongside icy falls and streams and enjoy multiple viewpoints.

A great classic of the Laurentians, this park offers no less than 48 km of trails for snowshoe lovers. So you will have the choice! Don’t forget to plan an “after snowshoe” in one of the villages in the region before returning home.

This territory with multiple peaks culminates at an altitude of 917 m. There are 8 snowshoe trails along rivers, on Mont Chocolat, through different forests and even in a territory occupied by moose!

45 minutes from the capital, in the hollow of the Jacques-Cartier glacial valley, the winter landscapes are memorable. To discover them: 11 snowshoe trails totaling nearly 80 km, with heated relays.

This snowshoe destination promises snow, great peaks and isolation for a winter adventure like no other. Leading to Mount Hog’s Back or Champ de Mars, the trails are designed for intermediate or advanced hikers.

Bonus: Mount Royal Park, in Montreal

After a good snowfall, nothing stops us from putting on our snowshoes and going for a walk on Mount Royal, even if the snow quickly gets “stuffed”! Guided evening hikes are even offered on Fridays and Saturdays by Friends of the Mountain.
