The fall was fatal. An 89-year-old man fell into a well in Bricqueville-sur-Mer, near Granville, around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday June 4. Called to the scene, the firefighters managed to evacuate him from the hole four meters deep, but the octogenarian was then in cardiac arrest.
Paramedics are trying to resuscitate him. In vain. The man eventually died.
Ten firefighters intervened and the national gendarmerie was called to the scene.
