870 associations denounce the “drift committed in the Senate”

This declaration comes a few hours after a notable tightening of the emblematic measure of the integration section of the text, regarding the regularization of certain workers in professions in tension.

“We must stop the drift underway in the Senate”, demanded the Federation of Solidarity Actors (FAS), in a press release published Thursday, November 9. In total, 870 associations and organizations working in the social field and aid to migrants have expressed their “astonishment” and their “deep concern” concerning the series of tightening of the immigration bill currently being debated in the Senate.

These decisions, they assert, jeopardize “unity” from the country. This declaration comes after senators from the right and the center notably voted in favor of the abolition of state medical aid for undocumented immigrants. They also have profoundly modified the measure aimed at regularize certain workers in professions in shortage.

The Senate examination gives rise to “the deepest concern for the situation of foreigners, public health, the conditions of action of associations, the dynamism of our businesses and for the very unity of the country”also alerted the FAS, a little over a month from the presentation of the text before the National Assembly.
