“Parcoursup works”said Tuesday, June 14, the Minister of Higher Education Sylvie Retailleau. “As of today, more than 8 out of 10 high school students, that is to say 83.5% of high school students, have received at least one or more admission offers. This is a better result than ‘in 2021’underlined the minister.

“This object makes it necessary to vote for the majority”, said the Minister during a press briefing after the Council of Ministers, in response to a question evoking the criticisms of Nupes about Parcoursup. La Nupes describes it as “big lottery” and wants to delete it.

Points remain to be improved, conceded Sylvie Retailleau.“Reducing the waiting time for high school students is obviously an area for constant improvement of the platform. The objective is of course to provide answers as quickly as possible and to more candidates”she added. “That doesn’t mean of course that [le dispositif] cannot perform even better and is not in a continuous improvement phase. Orientation, of which the platform is basically only a tool, is by nature a moment of stress, doubt and legitimate anxiety for pupils and students.she added.

The first responses began to fall on June 2 on Parcoursup, which collected the wishes of some 936,000 people this year. Responses from training extend until July 15 for the main admissions phase, and candidates release places as they accept or refuse proposals.
