The consumer magazine Kali publishes a dossier devoted to nanoparticles harmful to our health but omnipresent in our daily life which notes that “800 drugs” among the most prescribed “contain titanium dioxide“, probably carcinogenic substance, affirms on franceinfo Christelle Pangrazzi, its editor in chief, Wednesday December 22 on franceinfo.

“There are Doliprane, Spasfon, Imodium but also a lot of other drugs that people can take on a daily basis.”

Gold, “titanium dioxide is banned in food because it is probably carcinogenic when ingested, definite carcinogen when inhaled”, specifies the journalist.

This carbon dioxide would serve “simply to whiten drugs or make them brighter”, continues Christelle Pangrazzi. “Today there is a reluctance of drug manufacturers, laboratories, to modify these compositions by explaining that patients prefer to have whiter drugs.”

>> In March 2018, “60 million consumers” already warned about the presence of nanoparticles in six common drugs and instead advised their equivalents

The magazine Kali request “regulatory changes concerning nanoparticles” in drugs but also in food, cosmetics and clothing. “These are extremely small substances that can lodge in the heart of cells and possibly modify them. […] They are very numerous and we ask for the withdrawal of some of them, the most dangerous and some where studies converge by explaining that there are probably health risks “.

An online petition and a request for regulatory change will be sent to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Ecological Transition, assures Christelle Pangrazzi.
