Exile boats have been arriving one after the other for 48 hours on the island of Lampedusa. More than 7,000 people disembarked.

Faced with the thousands of people disembarked, the police had difficulty containing the crowd. The exiles have been waiting for hours under the sun in Lampedusa (Italy). They are waiting to be taken care of by the Red Cross. Never has the island seen so many arrivals in such a short time. This can be explained in particular by very favorable weather. Lampedusa declared itself in a state of emergencyence, unable to take care of so many people at the same time.

Transfer to other centers

Wanting at all costs to reach the rest of Europe, many people escape from the center under the helpless eyes of the police. Families have found refuge in the shade, helped by residents. From Wednesday September 13, the exiles were transferred to other centers in Italyie, even if the situation still remains complex.
