70 kilos of cannabis and 22,000 euros seized by the police in Toulouse thanks to a neighborhood survey

A large seizure of cannabis, at the beginning of June, in the district of St-Martin-du-Touch, in Toulouse.

At the base, the Toulouse police had been called to for simple neighborhood complaints, especially because of comings and goings in an apartment. But once there, they smelled a strong smell of cannabis.

The apartment in question was rented by two women aged 19 and 32 via the Airbnb platform. Inside, law enforcement discovered 15 kg of grass, 7 kg of cannabis resin, 50 g of cocaine and €10,000 in cash. The young women were arrested. But quickly, officials spotted a vehicle driving back and forth near the apartment. Three men were on board: two of them are 19 years old, the third is 16 years old. Officers seized car keys which led them to another vehicle parked nearby. Inside they found 48 kg of cannabis resin and 450 grams of cocaine. They also seized more than €12,000 in cash.

Alleged dealers blame each other

The three young people were also arrested. The five protagonists were taken into custody. The two young women, who admitted to being regular consumers, said they did not know that the apartment was used as a storage place. They were released. As for the three young men, they spent 96 hours in police custody. They provided conflicting information to investigators and dismissed blame. They have all three been remanded in custody June 5. The investigation continues to determine the roles of each.
