The super spy Jason Bourne
could soon return to service for new missions! Indeed, as revealed by our colleagues from the American news site Deadline
, a new film is currently in early development at Universal Pictures. This sequel would be the final installment of the successful franchise inspired by Robert Ludlum’s books, which currently has five films (including four with Matt Damon
).
But what does this sequel have in store for us? Which actors will be present? Answers!

A sequel with… or without Matt Damon?
As of this writing, Universal Pictures has not made any comment following this announcement.
But according to reports in Hollywood, the return of Jason Bourne could take place in the distant future. Although currently no script is being written, Matt Damon is reportedly being considered to reprise his flagship role as an amnesiac government agent in search of his identity. What about the other actors? At this stage, we don’t yet know if the other original cast members like Jeremy Renner
will join the cast.
Edward Berge in charge?
Furthermore, still according to the indiscretions of our colleagues, the German filmmaker Edward Berger (All Quiet On The Western Front) is currently in talks to produce this new opus. He will succeed the impressive directors of the saga, such as Doug Liman, Paul Greengrass And Tony Gilroy.
At the moment, we do not know the potential release date of the film. In the meantime, you can watch the previous opuses on Netflix, Prime Video or CANAL VOD!
