The Canadian team, which includes Quebecers Pamphinette Buisa (Gatineau), Karen Paquin (Quebec), Sabrina Poulin (Saint-Georges-de-Beauce) and Alexandra Tessier (Saint-Clothilde-de-Horton) has first signed a 26-7 victory against Poland in the semi-final for the match of fifth place.
The day before, in the preliminary round, the Poles beat the Canadians 17-14.
Olivia Apps led Canada with one tryout and two successful conversions. Nakisa Levale, Paige Farries and Emma Chown are the other Canadians who made it to the pay zone.
Then, in the matchup for fifth place, the Canadians fell to the Irish 26-5. Apps was the only representative of the country to register on the scoreboard to give hers the lead in the first minute of play, except that their opponents then took control of the meeting and scored 26 consecutive points.
The four Quebecers on the team were in action in these two games.
In the grand final later on Sunday, Russia will play against the United States.
The next Rugby 7s World Series tournament will be presented in Seville, Spain, next weekend.
