(Quebec) The CEO of Santé Québec will receive compensation of $652,000 per year for the first two years of his mandate, while he sets up the new state corporation.
The Legault government revealed the remuneration that the “ top gun » who will lead the new state corporation responsible for Quebec’s health network. This person will have a base salary of $567,000 per year, in addition to a 15% bonus for the first two years of their mandate “for the establishment of Santé Québec”. This equates to nearly $652,000 annually.
“This additional remuneration is not part of the eligible salary for the purposes of calculating retirement and insurance plans and the severance allowance,” specifies the decree.
In addition to this salary, the president and CEO will be entitled to a car allowance of $7,320 per year “in lieu of any reimbursement of travel expenses within a radius of 16 kilometers from the usual location work”.
He will also be entitled to a monthly allowance of $1,573 if “the distance between his place of work and his home requires him to incur housing costs.”
In comparison, the annual salary of Hydro-Québec CEO Michael Sabia is $639,000.
