“A very positive outcome” : 600,000 homeless people have been able to find housing since the implementation of the “Housing First” plan in 2018, announced Valérie Létard, Minister of Housing, in a press release on Thursday October 10.

This government plan allowed beneficiaries to “regain their dignity and consider, ultimately, a return to autonomy”, added the minister on the occasion of the International Day Against Homelessness, Thursday. These figures concern homeless people who have benefited from social housing, but also those who have been supported to reside in a boarding house in the private sector.

The “Housing First” strategy brings together several support systems, in conjunction with local authorities, but also associations, landlords and owners. Initially set up for five years by Emmanuel Macron, it was renewed until 2027.
