Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer said on Tuesday 23 November that 6,000 classes were currently closed in France due to positive Covid-19 cases. Last Friday, just over 4,000 classes were involved. These are classes “from primary school in particular, where we deploy saliva tests”, specified the minister before the National Assembly. “I recall that last year, at the height of the epidemic, when we managed to keep the school open, we were still at 12,000 closed classes”, he stressed.

The Minister of National Education called for “Continue” apply the strategy “test, alert, protect” and insisted on “respect for barrier gestures”. “There are certain lapses in society”, lamented Jean-Michel Blanquer, stressing however that he was “lesser” in the school environment. “The school environment is not particularly contaminating”, he concluded.
