The firefighters of Gard intervene Thursday, July 7 on a major fire near the town of Bordezac, in the north of the department. The fire started around 5 p.m. in an area of dense vegetation and has already destroyed around 600 hectares, according to a latest report provided at 10 p.m. by the Gard firefighters on franceinfo.

“The villages of Bordezac, Besseges, Gagnières are directly threatened”, write the Gard firefighters in a press release. A hundred of them are mobilized, in addition to about thirty vehicles, seven canadairs, three water bombers and a helicopter. The workforce must be reinforced in the evening to reach 500 firefighters.
A command post is activated on the place of the town hall of Besseges. “The inhabitants of Besseges, Bordezac, and Gagnières must remain confined to their homes”insist the firefighters.
