More than 4,000 people gathered on Friday March 18 in Metz to listen to Éric Zemmour. And 60 years to the day after the signing of the Evian agreements, the Reconquest candidate did not miss the opportunity to talk about the relationship between France and Algeria. It is now necessary, he believes, to normalize relations between Paris and Algiers, as with all the countries of the Maghreb.
When he speaks of Algeria, Eric Zemmour first evokes his parents who fled this country before the war. He says his love for the Pieds-noirs, then makes the link with today’s France by evoking “this atrocious war, whose effects we continue to suffer on our soil, because of the resentment that the Algerians still bear against us.” Resentment which, according to him, was stirred up by Emmanuel Macron when he compared colonization to a crime against humanity. “What impudence! What madness!”he says.
“I will put an end to this repentance, to finally bring peace, for respect!”

The public approves, in particular Dominique whose parents were black feet.
“I think 60 years later, it’s hard to talk about repentance. You don’t just have to turn the page, you have to throw the book away.” His wife especially remembers that Eric Zemmour wants to restrict the arrival of Algerians in France. “The Algerians have a country, a government… They must stay at home, they must not come to France, she says. I have Algerians in my family, it’s a disaster…”
According to her, the candidate says aloud what many think quietly, it is for this sincerity that this former voter of Nicolas Sarkozy intends to vote Zemmour.
