6-year contract and 200 million US | Carlos Correa would stay in Minnesota

Carlos Correa changed tack again, eventually agreeing to a six-year, $200 million deal allowing him to stay with the Minnesota Twins after he was unable to find common ground with the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

This pact with the star shortstop player would however be conditional on a medical examination, added this person, who requested anonymity to discuss with the AP since the contract has still not been officially announced.

Correa agreed to a 13-year, $350 million deal from the Giants on Dec. 13. They even summoned members of the media to a press conference a week later to discuss the deal, but it was called off hours before the event due to concerns over an ankle injury. right suffered by Correa in 2014.

Correa then agreed to a 12-year, $315 million deal from the Mets, who also expressed concerns about the condition of his ankle after a Dec. 22 medical. The New York formation had also suspended the agreement, the time to negotiate various protection clauses. Efforts that will ultimately have been for nothing.
