56 firearms seized at the Canada-U.S. Border

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers seized 56 prohibited firearms and ammunition at the Blue Water Bridge, Ontario, from the vehicle of a Floridian trying to cross the border into the United States to Canada on 1er last november.

Vivian Richards, a 48-year-old woman from Oakland Park, Florida, has been arrested in connection with the case. She faces nine counts, including possession of weapons for the purpose of trafficking, attempted smuggling, and unauthorized importation or exportation.

M’s vehicleme Richards was put on secondary inspection when she was at the Point Edward port of entry in southern Ontario. Officers found 56 undeclared prohibited firearms, 13 overcapacity magazines, 43 ten-round pistol magazines and 100 weapon ammunition in the trunk of his car.

The CBSA considers this to be “one of the largest seizures of firearms.”

The accused will appear in court on November 24.
