500 more places for the round of 16 of the French Football Cup between Bergerac and Saint-Etienne

The Bergerac Périgord Football Club won the case. The Périgord club has been asking the Dordogne prefecture for weeks to obtain a waiver to increase the gauge of the Francis Rongiéras stadium in Périgueux, a stadium which will host the round of 16 of the Coupe de France football between Bergerac on Sunday January 30. and Saint Etienne. The prefect of Dordogne Jean-Sébastien Lamontagne announced this Thursday, January 27 that the capacity of the sports arena would increase from 3,300 to 3,800 spectators.

500 additional tickets

“It’s a real satisfaction for us, but also for the supporters who will attend the match” welcomed live on France Bleu Périgord Paul Fauvel the director general of the club. “We would like to thank once again the Dordogne prefecture and the French Football Federation who really played the game who accompanied us as much as possible to facilitate the organization of the event. There will only be 3,800 people – in a 10,000-seat stadium – but there will be 3,800 Bergerac fans, fans of the epic and not just consumers who have come to see Saint-Etienne.

An assumed sales policy

When the general manager is asked if he has not tried to make money by offering for sale packages associating the Coupe de France match with league matches, Paul Fauvel fully assumes his choice. “Saint-Etienne is an important milestone in the history and in the project of the current club, but it is not an end point, the season will not stop after Saint-Etienne.. he explains. We are not going to stop at this project. We are currently first in Nationale 2 with a four-point lead and we say to ourselves that at the end of the season, we may have something magnificent to play for. And if we really want to hang on to something magnificent, we will need popular support from the Périgourdins for the project and the team. So we really wanted to capitalize on that. We want to find those who come to see Bergerac in the Coupe de France and who have fun, in Campréal the following weeks to support them until the end, and why not hang something that would be wonderful for the territory.”

Three outlets

The 500 new places will be sold in three places, only this Saturday, January 29. At the Intermarché de Creysse partner of the club, on the Bergerac market and at the Café de la place in Périgueux at prices ranging from €20 in the grandstand to €40 in the grandstand. Please note that no tickets will be on sale on the day of the match at the Francis Rongiéras stadium.
