(Honiara) Fiji will deploy 50 troops to an Australian-led peacekeeping force in the Solomon Islands, after days of riots that ravaged parts of the capital Honiara, said Monday Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama.
“Out of concern for the safety and well-being of our Pacific brothers and sisters in the Solomon Islands, 50 Fijian soldiers will be dispatched to Honiara tomorrow as part of a reinforced contingent integrated with Australian forces to help keep the peace and security, ”the Fijian leader tweeted.
