This Saturday, five people, two doctors, two nurses and a security guard, were injured by a patient whose care required restraint and who was hospitalized in the Short-Term Hospitalization Unit (UHCD) at the hospital. Ambroise-Paré from Boulogne-Billancourt in the Hauts-de-Seine, announces the AP-HP in a press release.
The assault on the staff of the emergency and security reception service at the Ambroise-Paré AP-HP hospital occurred this afternoon around 3:45 p.m., the statement said.
SAMU patients redirected to other services
The patient was immobilized by a security guard and then arrested by the police. “All the medical and nursing teams on site as well as the security service were very shocked”indicates the AP-HP. “Psychological support for all the staff of the emergency reception service of the Ambroise-Paré AP-HP hospital is in place”.
Among the two injured doctors, one of them is attached to the Paul Guiraud hospital group (Villejuif) and the two nurses to the Sainte-Anne hospital center in the 14th arrondissement in Paris. Following this incident “patients taken care of by the SAMU are referred to other emergency services in the sector”.
