46 evacuations of middle and high schools since the start of the school year, according to a ministry count

Forty-six schools have been evacuated due to false bomb threats since the start of the school year on September 4, according to a count from the Ministry of National Education communicated this Friday to franceinfo.

“Since the start of the school year, the ministry has noted an increase in threats of attack made against establishments via electronic messages,” indicates the ministry.

The academies of Normandy and Bordaux particularly affected

The academies most affected by these false bomb threats are the Normandy academy, with fifteen establishments evacuated, followed by the Bordeaux academy, where eight establishments had to be evacuated. Then come the academies of Versailles (5 evacuations), Créteil (4) and Lille (3).

Furthermore, a police source tells franceinfo that in the police zone, 140 evacuations due to false bomb threats have been counted since the start of 2023, and that around a hundred investigations have been opened. This report does not include the facts recorded by the Paris police headquarters or those committed in the gendarmerie zone.
