429 new cases of COVID in the province

The fourth wave of COVID-19 has ebbed slightly in Quebec.

According to data released Sunday by the Ministry of Health, 429 new cases have been identified since the previous report. There were 451 the day before. There have been 406,553 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Santé-Québec indicates that 266 of these 429 new cases had not been vaccinated or had received a first dose less than 14 days ago. One hundred and fifty newly infected people had received two doses for at least seven days.

Over the past seven days, the average of new cases stands at 422.

Two new deaths have been added to the death toll. We now deplore 11,195 deaths linked to COVID-19 since its appearance in Quebec.

The situation continues to improve in hospitals where the number of patients has increased from 255 to 250. There are 65 people in intensive care, three fewer than the day before. Fifteen people were admitted to a hospital on Saturday.

The number of active outbreaks increased slightly from 487 to 488.

A total of 28,093 analyzes were performed on October 22. The positivity rate remained at 1.3.

Authorities also said 9,099 doses of the vaccine, including 5,729 second doses, were administered over the past 24 hours, for a total of more than 13.2 million.

The percentage of people aged 12 and over who received a first dose reached 90%. It is also reported that approximately 86% of the Quebec population received a second dose.
