“42 victims died” in the first six months of 2024, announces the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime

Between January and June 2024, “42 victims died” throughout the country, in homicides linked to drug trafficking, announced Yann Sourisseau, head of the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime, on franceinfo Monday October 7. “For the first six months of 2024, 182 assassinations or attempted assassinations were committed across the entire country,” he specifies.

Numbers “down 19%” compared to the first half of 2023, a “particularly criminogenic” yearrecalls Yanne Sourisseau. But “increase of 22% compared to the year 2022 and 32% compared to the year 2021”. “The curve is clearly increasing, which constitutes a major concern”warns Yann Sourisseau.
