This is Hugo Latulippe’s documentary I lift myself up which will open as a world premiere and in competition the 40and edition of the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA), scheduled from March 15 to 27.
Posted at 1:00 p.m.
This edition will take place online and in theaters, in Montreal and Quebec.
I lift myself up questions how art can transform the world in a quest where politics and poetry intertwine. It brings to the screen the contribution of artists like Ariel Charest, Catherine Dorion, Sarah Montpetit, Elkahna Talbi, with texts by Marjolaine Beauchamp, Dany Boudreault, Mathieu Gosselin, Jean-Christophe Réhel, Rodney Saint-Éloi, Daria Colonna.
” I lift myself up is a remarkable, inspiring and forward-looking film that is in line with our mission to increase the knowledge and importance of art among the public and to promote artists. It’s a film that moved me a lot, as much by the beauty of its images as by the contagious enthusiasm of its protagonists,” said Jacinthe Brisebois, director of programming at FIFA.
Hugo Latulippe’s documentary will be screened on March 15, at 7 p.m., at the Monument-National, in Montreal, and on March 16 and 17, at 7 p.m., at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ). It will be preceded by the short film We Are Not Speaking the Same Language, by Danika St-Laurent.
It will also be offered online from March 15, at 8 p.m., on the FIFA online broadcasting platform, for the duration of the festival, until March 27.
