4,000 cannabis plants, around 1,100 kilos, have just been found in the village of Morette (Isère), 400 inhabitants. This large-scale traffic could have represented between ten and fifteen million euros in revenue.
A warehouse in the small village of Morette (Isère), hidden in the mountains, housed a real cannabis factory. Traffickers of Albanian origin were growing more than 4,000 feet of grass in the old body, using a sophisticated installation. The 700 m2 room is totally hermetic. A powerful electric plant powered UV lamps 24 hours a day, to optimize the growth of the grass.
Six people arrested
Two Albanians were staying here in precarious conditions, locked up for two months with a ban on going out, as the lawyer for one of them tells us. “He was responsible in particular for monitoring the plantations, and watering the cannabis plants (…). My client explained to me that he was in fact locked in the room all day”explains Me Fanny Marion.
In total, six people were arrested: four Albanians, and two French accomplices. The police burned more than a ton of cannabis on the spot, representing, according to them, 10 million losses for the traffickers. Cannabis factories are flourishing more and more in the French countryside.
