Emmanuelle Lussier-Martinez has a lot of fun on the set of “Counter-offer”, a comedy in which she plays a woman who, unlike her, has little self-confidence.
It must be said that her character, the real estate broker Daphnée Lévesque, has a lot of issues to manage. She must accept that her daughter’s father, Keuvin (Iannicko N’Doua), absent during the first years of their daughter Marie-Lune’s (Charlie Pierre) life, takes his place. It’s not to mention that Keuvin, as nice as he is, is now in a relationship with Jade (Noémie O’Farrell), Daphnée’s sister.
But that’s not all. Daphnée is engaged in a long-distance relationship with William (Étienne Lou), who, after the sale of the motel he inherited, has returned to enjoy the abundant snow in Whistler.
“Daphnée is an eternal romantic, she wants it to work with William. We hope it works despite the distance,” said the actress in an interview with the QMI Agency.
In this third season, the intrigues will present Daphnée to us in a different light. “She will discover the difficulties of joint custody and find herself alone more often, all of this will be a new reality for her.”
She evokes “a long quest for confidence” for her character, who advances as much as he steps back.
“The more assertive she is, the more she blossoms, and when she’s less assertive, people don’t take her seriously. But I have the impression that there are things in her which are affirmed and others which still remain to be built. Even at the level of his career, it will start with the meeting of a woman who wants to sell a prestigious house. Her career is like her personal life, it’s a series of ups and downs, she goes from a prestigious house to a semi-basement.
Within the Équipe Lévesque agency, the probation of Marc Huard (Pierre-Yves Cardinal) causes a stir, especially with Marcel (Antoine Vézina). “Thanks to Marc, sales are increasing, but so are tensions.” We can’t wait to see how things will go between Marc and Christine (Marie Soleil Dion). As for Norbert (Tommy Joubert), this character is more present than before.
The actress did not know Marie Soleil or Noémie, who play her sisters in the series produced by Pixcom, but their chemistry is palpable on the screen. “We are great accomplices. Since the first day of filming, it’s been so simple, they’re such idiots in life (laughs). I was surprised to have as much fun between scenes as while filming.
Emmanuelle Lussier-Martinez won in 2022 the prize for best female performance at the Actra Awards for “Guardians of the Galaxy”. She will be in François Delisle’s next choral film, “Le temps”, which spans several seasons and takes place in various locations. “We are shooting at Mount Washington next month. The subject is singular, we talk about our future, it touches me particularly thanks to the poetic and very raw tone at the same time. It’s about climate change, water scarcity and conflict.”
She will resume her role as Amanda in the third season of “Six Degrees” and we can see her in an OQLF web series encouraging the use of French in SMEs.
- The comedy “Counter-offer” airs every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on Noovo.
