After taking up the challenge for the first time last year, Pierre-Yves Lord will return to hosting the Gala des 39are Gemini Prize, September 15.
This was announced Thursday by Radio-Canada and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television-Quebec section, highlighting the quality of its animation last year.
“Pierre-Yves Lord demonstrated that he was the perfect man to bring about the great celebration of television with his enthusiasm, his infectious energy and his passion for the artists who offer so many good times to the public. We are very happy to have him back for this new edition,” declared Sophie Morasse, general director of Television de Radio-Canada, in a press release.
General Director of the Academy, Chantal Côté added that the host “loves our television” and “knows how to celebrate it with the public and with people in our industry”.
Pierre-Yves Lord succeeded Véronique Cloutier last year, taking for the first time the helm of the Gémeaux Awards Gala, intended for French-speaking Canadian television and digital productions. Its animation was praised by critics.
Pierre-Yves Lord recently confirmed that he was leaving his position as co-host of Two men in goldthe public affairs magazine of Télé-Québecwhich he has held since 2017. He also hosts the show 100 Geniuseson Radio-Canada.
