A man was shot dead Monday evening in the borough of Saint-Léonard, in Montreal.

The 39-year-old man was targeted by one or more suspects at around 9:40 p.m., at the corner of rue Jean-Talon and boulevard de l’Assomption. Wounded in the upper body, the victim was hit by several projectiles from a firearm.
“He was conscious during his transport, but his state of health deteriorated and he finally died in a hospital”, announced Tuesday morning Manuel Couture, public relations officer for the Police Department of the City of Montreal.
“This makes it the 37e homicide on our territory in 2021 ”, specified the spokesperson.
At least one suspect was seen leaving the scene, and the area was closed to traffic.
As of Tuesday morning, no one had been arrested and major crime investigators were still trying to shed light on the murder.
