37 players invited to the CH development camp

The Montreal Canadiens wasted no time before giving David Reinbacher the opportunity to wear his uniform on an ice rink.

Friday noon, the prospect selected fifth overall in the most recent draft hit the ice at the Brossard Sports Complex. In a video posted on the Habs’ Twitter account, he can be seen performing a few skating strokes and throwing a puck at the net.

The Austrian defender again wore the number 23 which was given to him at the amateur auction. On his debut with the CH, he will certainly have a new jersey, since it has already been hoisted to the heights of the Bell Center in honor of Bob Gainey.

Reinbacher has played for the past two years for Kloten HC in the Swiss National League.

Thirty-eight guest players

The 18-year-old is one of 37 players who have been invited to the Canadiens’ development camp, which will take place from Saturday to Tuesday in Brossard.

Twenty-eight of them are prospects drafted by the team, including goaltenders Jacob Fowler and Quentin Miller, forwards Florian Xhekaj and Filip Eriksson, and defenseman Luke Mittelstadt, all of whom were selected at the auction of 2023.

Several athletes received an invitation to participate in the camp. Quebecers Isaac Dufort, Charle Truchon and Jérémie Bucheler are among those who will try to impress the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge staff. The other guests are goalkeeper Samuel Urban, defender Francesco Dell’Elce and forwards Gabriel Seger and William Vote.
