Around 10:05 a.m., the woman, who was taking part in the half-marathon event, was taken care of by the organization’s medical team and by Urgences-santé paramedics.

“She was resuscitated at the scene and transported to the clinic where her condition was stabilized. She was then transferred to a hospital in Montreal where further investigations are underway. His condition is considered stable and there is no fear for his life,” said the medical director of the Montreal Beneva Marathon, Dr.r Francois De Champlain.

Remember that the 2019 edition of the Montreal marathon was marked by the death of Patrick Neely, a young 24-year-old runner in 2019. Since then, the event has had a facelift, leaving behind its former organizers and partners.

The start of the half-marathon and marathon events took place at Espace 67 located on Île Sainte-Hélène at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Some 8,600 runners took part in the two events presented on Sunday, the marathon and the half-marathon.

This year, the course of the race will cross the island of Montreal in its center, from south to north, taking its most emblematic axes such as boulevard Saint-Laurent and rue Saint-Denis. Please note that several streets will be closed incidentally.
