The holidays turn into a nightmare, in Greece. For six days now, the very touristic island of Rhodes has been affected by violent fires. Tens of thousands of people must be evacuated.

They are thousands to walk on the roads of Rhodes (Greece). Tourists, sometimes dressed in a simple swimsuit, who hastily left their belongings at the hotel to escape the flames. The fire threatens only a few tens of meters. There are families, children, babies in strollers. We must reach a safe place by all means.

Giant piers

Everywhere on the island, Saturday July 22, scenes of panic. On the beaches too, the evacuation is organised. These idyllic places have become giant piers, where the air is stifling. Since Saturday, 30,000 people have been sheltered, sometimes in gymnasiums. Others are waiting at the airport. The Greek island of Rhodes has been plagued by an impressive forest fire for six days. Flames that seem out of control. The rescuers work tirelessly, but the means sometimes seem derisory in the face of the fire that eats away at everything.
