30 hectares of forest destroyed near Épinal, the fire is not yet fixed

The fire which broke out on Tuesday in Bois-de-Champ between Épinal and Saint-Dié-des-Vosges (Vosges) is still not fixed, learned France Bleu Sud Lorraine from the firefighters. 30 hectares have burned, but 150 hectares have been preserved for now thanks to favorable weather conditions. The wind, which fell in the early evening, helped firefighters bring the blaze under control. Their intervention was made complicated by the discovery of ammunition dating from the First World War.

At the height of the fire, more than 160 firefighters were mobilized on site, with reinforcements from all over Lorraine, Bas-Rhin and Saône-et-Loire.
