3 new episodes for the 60th anniversary of the science fiction series
Launched in 1963 on BBC One, the British series Doctor Who over 800 episodes has enjoyed great success throughout the world for 60 years. Became the longest-running science fiction series in television historyit tells the adventures of a Time Lord, The Doctor, who has the gift of regeneration. Traveling through time and space aboard the Tardis, a spaceship that looks like a telephone box, the Doctor and his human friends try by all means to defeat the greatest dangers that threaten the “Whoniverse”composed of multiple galaxies.
In these three episodes written by Russell T. Davies (It’s a Sin, Torchwood)we will have the opportunity to find David Tennantwho had already played the famous Doctor between 2005 and 2010, and Catherine Tate, as Donna Temple-Noble. Both will face their most dangerous enemy : the toymaker, embodied by Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother). During their quest, they will be accompanied by new recruits, including Yasmin Finney in the role of Rose Temple-Noble, Miriam Margolyes lending his voice to Meep or even Jacqueline Kingin the features of Sylvia Noble.
When will they be available?
The first episode (Doctor Who: The Star Creature) will be available from November 25 on the platform of the big-eared firm. The second (Doctor Who: At the Edge of the Universe) will arrive as soon as December 2 and the third (Doctor Who: The Toymaker) since the December 9.
Good to know : a new season will be released in 2024 on Disney +! For the moment, no details on the plot or the casting have been given. Only the name of Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education)in the role of the fifteenth Doctor, has been revealed.
