The oral contest will be divided into five major themes: the environment; the cost of living and the economy; health ; education and citizen services; French, immigration and identity.

As in the past, Radio-Canada will invite citizens to speak at the start of each segment. The moderator of the evening, the animator Patrice Roy, will then launch a first question to each leader, then will follow an open period of 15 minutes where they will all be able to debate on this theme.

The two-hour debate, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., will conclude with a round of questions to the leaders and will be followed by press briefings from each of the leaders beginning at 10:15 p.m.

The position of the leaders in relation to the host and the order of the interventions were decided at random, specifies Radio-Canada, “to ensure that no political party is favored”.

The theme of the environment had also opened the last leaders’ debate on TVA Nouvelles, but it was included in a larger segment where the candidates had also crossed swords on the economy and the quality of life.

The debate will be presented live from the new Maison de Radio-Canada in Montreal and broadcast simultaneously on all Radio-Canada platforms as well as those of Newsof The Pressfrom To have toTélé-Québec and CPAC.
