A 29-year-old woman was killed Thursday morning in the borough of LaSalle in Montreal.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) confirmed the death at the end of the afternoon, following the armed attack which occurred around 8:45 a.m. in a parking lot on rue des Oblats. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition.
This is the 22nd murder to occur this year on the island of Montreal, said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.
Investigators from the major crimes section are continuing their investigation and were still on the scene at the end of the afternoon trying to understand the circumstances surrounding the event.
Mr. Brabant reports that there are no arrests in this case.
