29 more deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reported on Tuesday 29 new deaths linked to COVID-19 and a drop in hospitalizations.

Of these deaths, two occurred in the last 24 hours and 23, between two and seven days ago. Four occurred more than a week ago. This brings the total number of deaths attributable to the virus to 16,363.

The Ministry of Health reported 1,807 hospitalizations, including 608 due to COVID-19, a decrease of 73 from the previous day. There were 49 people in intensive care, including 24 due to COVID-19, a number that remained stable compared to the previous day.

Healthcare workers absent for pandemic-related reasons now stand at 3,617 workers, up from 3,403 the previous day.

The ministry also announced 852 new cases of COVID-19, but this number is far from being representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 169 rapid tests were self-reported for Monday, including 141 positives. The total stands at 248,472 self-reported rapid tests so far, including 236,587 positives.

On the vaccination side, 13,639 more doses were administered, for a total of nearly 20.7 million doses in Quebec.
