The SPVM considers that he was a victim of the 28e homicide to occur in the metropolis this year.

The SPVM was alerted by a call to the 911 emergency telephone center concerning an inanimate man discovered in a dwelling.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police attempted to resuscitate the individual, but his death was pronounced on the spot.

“The 48-year-old victim bore signs of violence,” said SPVM spokesperson Véronique Comtois.

A 38-year-old suspect has been arrested. He will be met by investigators.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Section are trying to determine the circumstances of this murder.

“Our investigators will try to recover as much information as possible, for example if witnesses saw something, or if surveillance cameras were able to capture the event,” added the spokesperson for the SPVM.
