The current wave of COVID-19 continues to recede in Quebec.

According to data published on Saturday by the Ministry of Health, the number of patients in hospitals due to the coronavirus rose from 2,214 to 2,143. There are 153 people in intensive care, eleven less than the day before.

Twenty-eight new deaths were added to the death toll. We now deplore 13,684 deaths linked to COVID-19 since its appearance in Quebec.

The Ministry of Health also reports 2,359 new cases since the previous report. Authorities have identified 896,972 cases of infection since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

The seven-day average of new cases stands at 2,655, down more than 14% from last Saturday.

The number of active outbreaks decreased from 1134 to 1130.

A total of 20,736 analyzes were carried out on Friday. The positivity rate remained at 11.0%.

The percentage of people aged 5 and over who received a first dose is still around 91%. It is also reported that approximately 86% of the Quebec population received a second dose and that approximately 49% received a booster dose.
