In the processions demonstrations against the vaccine pass, which gathered more than 100,000 people on Saturday 8 January, the most radical call for violent action. For weeks now, several parliamentarians have received death threats for their support for the government’s vaccination policy.
More and more elected officials are subject to violence from the most radical “anti-ax”. MPs LREM are the first targeted, and more and more often threatened with death. Since January 1, 2022, 28 deputies have received death threats. In 2021, 200 similar facts were identified. The phenomenon has grown to such an extent that the government has request the prefects to strengthen the supervision of elected officials.
