25th homicide in Montreal: the SPVM arrests a second suspect

A young adult has been arrested and charged with second degree murder against a 16-year-old boy who occurred on October 18, in the borough of Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, in Montreal.

Andrei Donet, 18, appeared at the Montreal courthouse on Friday afternoon. He faces several counts, including second degree murder.

This is the second arrest made in the context of this police investigation. On October 21, 2021, a minor suspect was also apprehended in connection with this homicide. The latter has since appeared before the Youth Division of the Court of Quebec on counts of conspiracy and second degree murder.

Recall that October 18, a 16-year-old was stabbed while leaving a school located near the intersection of Victoria and Van Horne avenues. He was later pronounced dead in hospital. This 25e homicide to occur in the metropolis since the beginning of the year has shaken the Montreal community.

“The police investigation is continuing to identify a third individual suspected of also being involved in this homicide. Anyone with information can contact 911 or their neighborhood station.
