2,500 agents of the Ministry of the Interior will settle in Saint-Denis after the Olympics

The Prime Minister announced, this Monday, November 15, the arrival of 2,500 agents of the Ministry of the Interior, after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in the city of Saint-Denis.

Jean Castex made this announcement at the end of an interministerial committee on the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games which was held this morning in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis. He specified that these agents will be installed from the end of 2026-beginning of 2027 in the Maxwell Hall and the Copernicus Pavilion.

Two buildings in the Olympic Village will accommodate the agents

These two buildings, emblematic of the city’s industrial past, will be renovated and will be at the heart of the athletes’ village under construction for Paris 2024. The Halle Maxwell, former EDF thermal power station, will host, for example, fitness areas, information centers and workspaces for delegations during the Games.

“This is again a strong act and which is in line with the decisions already taken and which I will continue to take … because the role of the State is first and foremost to come to the aid, in support of populations and territories which need it most. Territories which are fighting but which, without the national solidarity embodied by the State, would not be able to meet the immense challenges which are before them “, said Jean Castex during his speech.

46,000 square meters developed

In total, 46,000 square meters will be fitted out and secured to accommodate these agents, “replacing the building of which the ministry is a tenant in the 12th arrondissement of Paris,” said the Ministry of the Interior in a press release. “The project is designed to perfectly meet the needs of the ministry in terms of quality of life at work (transport service, nursery, sports hall …), safety and adaptability to new working methods (rise of teleworking , videoconference rooms) “, he adds.
