250 chairs torn from the stands and the locker rooms of the Saint-Symphorien stadium in Metz ransacked

The stadium is due to host the French football team which faces Luxembourg on Wednesday June 5, as part of preparation for the Euro.

250 seats were torn out from the stands of the Saint-Symphorien stadium in Metz (Moselle), whose locker rooms were ransacked. The AS Saint-Étienne club apologizes to FC Metz, Monday June 3, after the party for its rise to Ligue 1 which degenerated this Sunday, reports France Bleu Lorraine Nord. The Greens of AS Saint-Étienne ensured their rise to Ligue 1 at the Saint-Symphorien stadium in Metz, at the same time condemning the Grenats to the descent into Ligue 2 on Sunday.

The Saint-Symphorien locker rooms were left in a sorry state by the Stéphanois players after their victory. FC Metz published, Monday June 3, a photo of the locker rooms ransacked by AS Saint-Étienne players. On X, FC Metz reacts sarcastically to the rise of AS Saint-Étienne “Congratulations on your rise to Ligue1 UberEats and thank you for stopping by”, with the photo of the ransacking of the locker rooms as an illustration. The ceilings are damaged, plates are falling and garbage litters the benches. Food was smashed on the walls and floor, while a trash can was right next to it. A TV screen installed in the locker room was also scratched, reports France Bleu Lorraine Nord.

In the stands, the damage is significant. The ultras from Saint-Etienne celebrated the team’s rise by vandalizing the visitors’ parking lot in the Saint-Symphorien stands. According to information from France Bleu Lorraine, 250 seats were taken from this location.

Next Wednesday, the France team must play a match against Luxembourg at the Saint-Symphorien stadium, as part of preparation for the Euro. The damage will have to be repaired urgently by then. The damaged locker room is the one that will accommodate the Luxembourg team.
